Major negative life events are associated with higher suicidality. In this association, 2 mediating paths were hypothesized: via minor negative life events, & via depression. 96 adolescent primary care patients were recruited. Minor negative life events were associated with depressive symptoms & suicidality. Depressive symptoms were associated with suicidality. Depressive symptoms mediated the association of minor negative life events with suicidality. Findings suggest that minor negative life events may be associated with suicide ideation among adolescent primary care patients, & that depressive symptoms may mediate the association of minor negative life events with suicidality.
