The Aboriginal Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy is an initiative established in response to the Government of Alberta’s Children & Youth Initiatives. This report outlines the results of a summative evaluation conducted in 2007-2008 of 9 initial pilot sites & 7 new sites. The focus was to determine to what degree the Strategy had reached its objective of supporting Aboriginal communities to identify strengths & build upon their capacity to prevent youth suicide. Statistically significant results showed that the Strategy had met its stated goals & objectives. 4 key recommendations are made, including the continuation of the Strategy. JA
