This discussion paper examines youth suicide in Queensland. It opens with a description of the RYSQ (Reducing Youth Suicide in Queensland) project. Preliminary findings regarding risk factors & circumstances, age & gender, over-representation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, & suicide clusters are presented. Approaches to preventing youth suicide are reviewed.
