In this letter to the editor, the author poses two questions relating to the study by Nakagawa & Kawanishi (2009) of a follow-up of suicide attempters who were given crisis intervention during their hospital stay. The questions raised are: which intervention model presents the best option for East Asian populations, reflective of cultural differences? did the authors find any meaningful differences in the clinical outcome in accordance with clinical variables in their study?
