Suicidal Behavior: the Need for its Documentation in Multiaxial DSM-V Diagnoses

In this letter to the editor, the author responds to a November 2008 editorial on issues related to the DSM-V. He outlines his proposal for adding a sixth digit that would call attention to whether Axis I or I diagnoses are associated with the presence of suicidal behaviour. A reply by Oquendo follows.
