In June 2006, the Steering Committee of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network identified better outreach & service to suicide attempt survivors as a strategy for reducing suicide nationally. A workplan identified direct input from survivors as a necessary & valuable method for clarifying their unique needs. Attempt survivors shared their experiences & perspectives at a meeting in January 2007; others participated through indepth phone interviews. This report summarizes the findings from both the meeting & interviews. Because data collection methods were substantially different, the findings from each are presented separately. Common themes are presented in the final section.
