This literature review looked at the evidence for the clinical effectiveness of dialectical behaviour therapy for suicide prevention in adolescents, 18 years & younger. Two systematic reviews meeting the inclusion criteria were identified as was 1 randomized controlled trial & 4 observational studies. Results of this review suggest this therapy may be effective in the treatment of suicidality in adolescents with or who are suspected to have borderline personality disorder or bipolar disorder. However, further study is needed to confirm these findings.
