Possibilities and Limitations of Crisis Intervention After Attempted Suicide Within the Framework of the Institution of a University Medical Center

The presenter discussed his experiences with patients who were hospitalized at Klinikum Steglitz after a suicide attempt. The crisis that precipitated the attempt often presented from the perspective of feelings of isolation & alienation. The extent to which crisis intervention is dependent upon the limitations of the treatment situation & setting was reflected upon.
