Within the framework of a crisis intervention department of a university medical centre, this presentation discussed inpatient group therapy as a central possibility for crisis intervention. The functions of group therapy were examined from the point of view of their adequacy & effectiveness for different patient groups. The results of a catamnestic investigation were presented for subjective evaluation of therapeutic results.
