Ensuring the Seventh Generation: a Youth Suicide Prevention Toolkit for Tribal Child Welfare Programs

This toolkit has 4 sections. The first discusses the role of tribal child welfare workers & child/youth suicide, a suicide intervention model, & tips for child welfare workers & care providers. The second section discusses the assessment of risk, including risk factors for lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirited, & questioning youth. Section 3 offers perspectives on research, culture, professionals, & the media. The final section outlines strategies for taking community action & includes information of how to get started & resources, funding, programs, & tools.
