Issues for DSM-V: Suicidal Behavior as a Separate Diagnosis on a Separate Axis

In this editorial, the authors recommend that suicidal behaviour be considered a separate diagnostic category documented on a sixth axis in the DSM-V. Conceptual & practical reasons for their recommendation are briefly discussed. (5 refs.)
