Knowledge about suicide might be positively correlated with local suicide prevalence. This hypothesis was tested with a sample of 107 medical & social science Estonian undergraduates. Compared (independent group t tests) with a sample of undergraduates from Austria, Estonians presented significantly higher overall knowledge about suicide, particularly concerning demographic & epidemiological facts about suicide but not pertaining to clinical & interpersonal knowledge contents. Study limitations & suggestions for extending this preliminary inquiry are discussed. (16 refs.)
