Suicide in Adolescents: a Worldwide Preventable Tragedy

Adolescent suicide occurs in all countries of the world with as many as 200,000 youth & young adults dying by suicide each year. This article examines factors leading to adolescent suicide with recommendations for prevention. A major issue in suicide prevention is to screen all children & adolescents for depression & other factors that may triger suicide.(88 refs.)
