Data was collected from 2402 high school students in Chandigarh, India. The statistical analyses used were chi square & Spearman’s correlation. 1078 students reported psychological problems. 180 students repored that life was a burden. 122 reported suicide ideation & 8 reported a suicide attempt. There was significant correlation between student’s perception of life as a burden & the class they were studying, mother’s working status, psychological problems, & problems in relation to study, peers, future planning, & with parents.
