In this letter to the editor, the authors comment on an article by Kanchan & Menezes (2008) on gender differences in suicidal poisoning in southern India. A concern is raised about the conclusion reached regarding the 36 female victims in the study sample. The letter ends with suggested suicide prevention strategies. (2 refs.)
