The Relationship of Suicide Death to Baker Act Examination, Client Characteristics and Service use Patterns (Agency for Health Care Administration Series 220-116)
Roggenbaum S~~Christy A~~et al
This study aimed to provide a better understanding of the Medicaid funded services in Florida & the extent to which they were used by those who died by suicide, as well as an examination of service patterns & how they were related to this negative outcome. Lack of service use for those who were enrolled in Medicaid & died by suicide would suggest problems with diagnosis &/or access to key services. Use of certain services that are related to suicide may suggest the need to address more carefully (or assess for) suicide in individuals accessing such services &/or address issues with the services themselves. Data was collected from archival data analyses, an online survey, & interviews.
