The New York State Local Forensic Suicide Prevention/Crisis Intervention Program (In: The Mentally Ill in Jail: Planning for Essential Services by H J Steadman, D W McCarty, & J P Morrissey)

This chapter describes the development of a suicide prevention/crisis intervention program in seven New York county jails by the New York State Office of Mental Health & Ulster County Mental Health Services in collaboration with researchers. The structure of the program is built around identification and referral & intervention.
