This report examines Tribal & Regional Behavioral Health Authority mortality in Arizona over the fiscal year 2007. 54% of deaths were due to natural causes, 20% to accidents, 13% to unknown causes, 11% to suicide, & 3% to homicide. Although overall mortality in this sytem is not in excess of the general population, individuals within the system are about 5 times more likely to die by suicide than the general population. Implications for policy might include an increased emphasis on suicide prevention & accidental drug overdose prevention.
