This document outlines the suicide prevention plan for Illinois. The goals & objectives of the plan incorporate community education, increasing social support, advocating for a continuum of care for high risk groups, promoting the utilization of suicide prevention services for victims of harassment & violence, increasing awareness of & competency in suicide prevention & treatment for community workers & health care personnel, increasing access to mental health care, improving suicide-related data collection, increasing public awareness of the benefits of restricting access to means, reducing the stigma of suicide, & developiong sustainable funding sources for prevention programs & the evaluation of these programs.
