In this letter to the editor, Hoeldtke comments on a study by Gissler et al (2004) on pregnancy-associated mortality in Finland. He questions why deaths from unintentional accidental injuries & intentional injuries were excluded from the analysis. The reply of Gissler & colleagues follows.
