In this letter to the editor, Preti comments on an article by Koch on the representations of suicide & suicide ideation in the Bible. Preti suggests that in the reported case series, some instances are relevant to another aspect of suicidal behavior: its hostile intent. He provides examples of this type of suicide & argues that a proper consideration of these episodes might shed light on current suicide bombing attacks. Dr. Koch’s reply to Preti follows. (11 refs.)
