In this letter to the editor, Rotheram-Borus comments on an article by Hallfors et al (2006) on screening high-school students for suicide risk. When the program failed, organizational factors at the school were examined to see how the program could be better implemented on a more consistent basis. Rotheram-Borus states a more likely hypothesis is that the program was not feasible in a real-world school setting & a different approach is needed. She provides an example of another strategy that may be more feasible. (3 refs.)
