Recommendations for Suicide Prevention in Nebraska: a Report on the Nebraska Suicide Prevention Symposium

This document provides a report on the Nebraska Suicide Prevention Symposium held June 23, 2006 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Delegates voted on which of 11 recommendations should be pursued, selecting the following as action plan priorities: collaboration to develop a statewide program of suicide assessment & prevention to integrate in school curricula; gathering all available suicide data in order to better understand suicide in Nebraska & publishing the data & prevention resources in print & on a state website; exploring the implementation of an Emergency Department Means Restriction Education program; & implementing a yearlong, statewide public awareness campaign.
