Help-seeking behaviour, using case vignettes, was investigated among elderly Japanese residents in a rural community. Data from 230 residents, aged 65 or over, in the model area of Town A, were analyzed. The results show participation in mental health workshops facilitated consultation with specialists, e.g. primary care doctors & nurses. The expected effects of psychoeducation on the general public & specialists were considered. (24 refs.)
