Winthrop Community Study: a Summary of Findings

This report summarizes the findings of an epidemiological study that included focus groups in an attempt to help determine & better understand the risk factors that may have been associated with the prevalence of suicidal behaviour in Winthrop, Maine. The community experienced the suicide deaths of 5 young men from 2003-2005. Using these findings, the report offers recommendations & suggested resources for use in the further development of a community-wide approach to youth suicide prevention.
