How we can Reduce Suicides in Ukraine: the Draft of the National Action Plan (Public Initiative)

This document provides information on the incidence of suicide in the Ukraine & outlines a draft national suicide prevention strategy. The strategy is based on a two-component model of prevention – public health & measures from the medical system perspective. The main objectives are: to reduce public stigma; to enhance the quality & availability of medical services; to develop mechanisms to help individuals & groups at risk; to provide community & professional education; to reduce the availability of means; to encourage responsible media coverage; to enhance research; & to disseminate information about the strategy & its evaluation.
