This pamphlet discusses depression & suicidal behaviours in students studying abroad. Changes in behaviour may relate to culture shock or they could be symptoms of depression. Suggestions are provided for making recommendations for a professional mental health evaluation & helping a student to seek medical attention. Warning signs for suicide are listed & suggested actions to take if a student is at risk are outlined. Postvention after a suicide attempt is briefly discussed as is the effect of one student’s suicidal behaviour on other students in the program.
