The author asserts a major factor omitted from the SAD PERSONS scale is the availability of lethal means. He recommends modifying the scale to SAD PERSONAS with the second “a” representing the availability of lethal means. Campbell also proposes a second modification, namely eliminating scoring as suicide risk factors are qualitative not quantitative. (3 refs.)
