This review addresses the nature of morbid jealousy, its psychopathology, diagnostic issues, associations, risks, & management. It is asserted suicidal ideation is not uncommon in morbid jealousy, particularly because of its association with depression & substance abuse. In a 1965 British study, 20% of morbidly jealous individuals had made suicide attempts. In situations where a partner is killed, this may be followed by suicide. (45 refs.)
