The Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised (SBQ-R): Validation With Clinical and Nonclinical Samples

This study examined the reliability & validity of the Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised (SBQ-R). Participants included psychiatric adolescent inpatients, high school students, psychiatric inpatient adults, & undergraduates. Logistic regression analyses provided empirical support for the usefulness of this questionnaire as a risk measure of suicide to differentiate between suicide-risk & nonsuicidal study participants. Both the single Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised Item 1 & Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised total scores are recommended for use in clinical & nonclinical settings. (36 refs.)
