This article considers the implications of suicide & violent deaths for the development of interventions for parentally bereaved children. Data was analysed from the Family Bereavement Program. Results show minimal differences in childrenÁøs mental health problems, grief, & protective factors based on cause of parental death. The author concludes that cause of death from violence or suicide is not a useful indicator of a bereaved child & the likeliness of them benefiting from an intervention. (75 refs.)(CH)
