This study examined the relation between parental bonding & suicidality in adulthood. Data from 7740 respondents in the European Study of Epidemiology of Mental Disorders was analyzed. A multinomial-logistic regression model was used. Associations between low maternal & paternal care & suicidality were found. Country-specific differences proved negligible. It is concluded more caring parental environments can be a protective factor against suicidality in adulthood. (50 refs.)
