This document sets out a suicide prevention strategy for the Gateshead Primary Care Trust for the years 2004-2010. The eight components that form the action plan are: appropriate level of care, inpatient suicide prevention, post-discharge prevention of suicide, family/carer contact, appropriate medication, co-morbidity/dual diagnosis, post-incident review, & training of staff. Local priorities relating to the promotion of mental wellbeing in the general population & research are also part of the strategy.
