“We’re Trying to Keep Up”. A Report on the Availability and Accessibility of Information on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Issues in Nunavut

125 surveys were circulated to service providers in 26 communities across Nunavut. 48 were returned & analysed for this report by the 3 Nunavut regions: Qikiqtani, Kivalliq, & Kitikmeot. The report begins with a description of the survey & the responses to it. It then attempts to contextualize the survey’s salient points within best practices literature. Information around the themes of suicidal behaviour, risk factors, Nunavut demographics, & best practices in Canada call for a focussed discussion of innovation in Wraparound, Telehealth, & the use of Mental Health Authorities as potential solutions for northern communities.
