This document provides a conceptual framework for classifying suicide prevention initiatives, reviews evidence for their effectiveness, & makes recommendations for initiatives to be included in the New Zealand Suicide Prevention Strategy. Initiatives are grouped according to those for which there is strong evidence of effectiveness, those that appear promising, those for which there is no evidence of effectiveness but which may be beneficial, & those for which there are concerns about safety.
