This report has two parts that review risk of suicidal behaviour among children & youth likely to live in Child Youth & Family residences in New Zealand, assess international best practice in minimising risk of suicide in such residences, & suggest changes & improvements that could assist Child Youth & Family to enhance its management of such risks in their youth resident population in the future. A proposal for a suicide prevention plan is included in Part Two.
