7-DFUP: Guidance on 7 Day Follow-Up Procedures and Practice

This paper details the findings & recommendations of research into 7-day follow-up procedures for patients on Enhanced Care Programme Approach discharged from hospital/inpatient psychiatric units. There does not appear to be a consistent model of coordinating or delivering this program across health trusts. Recommendations are made for training & education for all community mental health & inpatient services. It is also suggested the health trusts need to approach this program as both a performance target & a critical page of care that supports service users recovery.
