A number of recommendations are made, including the collection of valid & reliable data to support suicide prevention programs; the support of WHO in the development & implementation of national strategies for member countries in this region; & the integration of suicide prevention efforts into national health policies & programming. A very strong recommendation is also made for the development of a formal network within this region & a common instrument for suicide surveillance.
