Kim K~~Ryu E~~et al
The relationship of Internet addiction to depression & suicide ideation was examined in a sample of 1573 Korean high-school students. A correlational survey design was employed. 1.6% were diagnosed as Internet addicts while 38% were classified as possible addicts. The prevalence of addiction did not vary with gender. The levels of depression & suicide ideation were highest in the Internet addiction groups. Future studies should investigate the direct relationship between psychological health problems & Internet dependency. (39 refs.)
