Mandell D S~~Walrath C M~~et al
This study compared the psychosocial & clinical characteristics & 6-month functional outcomes of suicidal & nonsuicidal youth. Repeat & previous attempters were more likely than first-time attempters & never attempters to experience psychosocial problems & to be functionally impaired in a variety of ways. Differences in functional impairment persisted at 6 months. Among those who were not severely functionally impaired at baseline, repeat attempters were more likely to be severely impaired at 6 months. (35 refs)
