There is evidence, not well authenticated, that Thomas More took an interest in & helped a man contemplating suicide. This article examines whether or not this story might be true, concluding that the historical record “amounts to no more than a suspicion that there was evidence in 1581 that St Thomas More had taught someone some spirital remedies capable of being associated with a death wish”.
