This article compared the suicidal & psychosocial character between Norway, Sweden, Denmark & the United States. In Sweden, emphasis is placed on success & childrenÕs detachment from their mother at a young age. As a result, repressed anger, & feelings of being emotionally dead are evident among Swedish suicidal patients. In Denmark, dependency & passivity are seen in suicidal patients but seldom are among patients in Sweden or the United States. More research is needed in Norway on a moral type of suicide based on a combination of aggressive antisocial behaviour & strong guilt feelings.
