From January 2001 to June 2003, 200 subjects with DSM-IV body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) recruited from diverse sources were assessed with standard measures to examine rates, correlates, predictors, & other aspects of suicidal ideation & suicide attempts in this disorder. The results show that subjects had high rates of lifetime suicidal ideation (78%) & suicide attempts (27.5%). Lifetime impairment due to BDD & certain comorbid disorders are associated with suicidality. (LC) (57 refs)
