This article examines the potential ways in which the Internet influences suicide, either by providing information on prevention or by providing information detailing suicide methods. The Internet appears to have complex effects on suicidal behaviours, particularly among young people. Given the growth of this medium, more research is required to analyse potential benefits & adverse effects, & to develop more effective therapeutic interventions. (10 refs.)
