This article outlines the positions of the American Geriatrics Society on voluntary active euthanasia, namely: 1) a physician should not provide interventions that will actively, directly, & intentionally cause the death of a patient; & 2) the current legal prohibition of physician assistance in active voluntary euthanasia & suicide should not be changed.
