This editorial states that one of the most difficult questions to be faced if assisted suicide &/or euthanasia are legalized is how to ensure the rules are followed. A review of research from the Netherlands concludes the evidence is not clear that efforts in this country have been successful to keep these practices within the bounds prescribed by law. (37 refs.)
