Abstract
Preference for Fall From Height as a Method of Suicide by Elderly Residents of New York City
Abrams R C~~Marzuk P M~~et al
All medical examiner certified suicides in New York City from 1990-1998 were studied to compare suicide methods used by elderly & younger adults. Associations between age, methods, & place of occurrence were examined. Falls from a height were more likely among older adults (age 65+) than by those who were younger. Among persons who fell from a height, those 65 & older were more likely than others to have fallen from the building where they lived. (9 refs.)
