Kweyulus Mustimuhw: Cowichan Tribes Suicide Prevention Project – Sharing in the Light –

The Kweyulus Mustimuhw Suicide Prevention Inter-Agency Committee implemented a suicide prevention support group in July 2004 that offers seasonal forums, conferences & suicide prevention training. In March 2005, Cowichan Tribes launched the cross-Canada Youth Suicide Prevention Walk. On March 28, 9 young First Nations & Inuit walkers left the Cowichan Band gymnasium in Duncan to begin their journey to raise awareness of youth suicide on First Nations reserves & in communities.
