This report discusses the findings of the assessment of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) related mental issues & gives recommendations to the OIF medical & line commands. The Mental Health Advisory Team (MHAT) conducted surveys with 756 Soldiers & directed an assessment of the OIF behavioral healthcare system, focusing on the behavioral health services for deployed Soldiers & units, the evacuation of behavioral health patients, the behavioral health services at one of the ArmyÕs projection platforms, & the observed July 2003 increase in OIF suicides & the suicide prevention program.
