In this article it is hypothesized that attitudes toward suicide might reflect the victimÕs chances to promote her/his inclusive fitness (the ASIF-hypothesis). In a study, 198 Swedish university students read 1 of 3 different suicide case descriptions & answered questions about the causes, rationality, & acceptability of the suicide. Death by suicide by a paralysed person was judged as more rational & justified than someone who died by suicide after killing others, a result in line with the ASIF-hypothesis. (LC) (19 refs)
